About the Ohio University Executive Leadership Institute (OUELI)
It's a whole new world for the public and nonprofit sectors. Leaders are constantly faced with demands for a new kind of leadership in which they are change agents and value creators. Today’s leaders need a new framework and strategies to succeed.
The OUELI curriculum draws on the expertise and experience of highly regarded faculty, practitioners, researchers and nationally recognized speakers in public management, strategy, change, organizational dynamics, political communication, and performance measurement. OUELI provides a unique and dynamic learning experience that includes case studies, group exercises, and application exercises.
The Ohio University Executive Leadership Institute (OUELI) offers programs focused on public value creation, strategy, performance and change:
PUBLIC VALUE: The heart of a public or nonprofit organization is the value it creates. OUELI teaches leaders how to think about the organization as a value-creating entity where leaders think strategically about how to maximize value.
STRATEGY: Public leadership requires a coherent strategy to help an organization achieve outcomes and reach goals. OUELI courses present models and examples for pushing value forward.
CHANGE: Adapting to and anticipating change is a key skill for today's leaders. OUELI programs give participants the tools for mastering change.
PERFORMANCE: Having the right data and using it strategically helps an organization maximize its value. OUELI courses present strategies for using performance measurement and data to make strategic decisions.
OUELI is a part of Ohio University’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs. The OUELI program also is home to the Voinovich School Senior Policy Fellows and Undergraduate Research Scholars programs.
